Manufactured from virgin PE resin, our polyethylene block bottom valve bags are a durable, moisture-resistant option for packaging granular and fine powders.
These durable valve bags, made from virgin low-melt polyethylene resin, are designed to be added directly to a mixture during manufacturing, eliminating the need to open and empty the bag. The bag melts and its contents disperse into the mixture, minimizing personnel exposure to hazardous materials. These plastic valve bags are an ideal choice for chemicals used in the paint, rubber, and tire manufacturing industries, such as Carbon Black and Titanium Dioxide.
The most economical valve option, a standard internal valve is constructed by gluing a strip of woven poly material into the valve opening to make it stronger and more sift resistant.
This type of valve is folded and tucked in manually after filling. An optional thumb notch can be added for easier use during machine packing.
This is an outer poly sleeve extension used for ultrasonic hermetic sealing. The sleeve is constructed of spunbond polypropylene or polyethylene.
Southern Packaging LP offers a versatile selection of polyethylene open mouth bags, available in four distinct construction types to suit a wide range of packaging needs. These bags are a reliable and cost-effective solution for packaging dry, flowable products for the agriculture, food processing, chemical and building materials industries.

Sideweld/side-seal open-mouth bags are a low-cost, general purpose bag suitable for light to medium duty applications. Made from folded polyethylene sheeting, they are sealed on each side but are open on the top and bottom and sealed during the packaging process.
Flat tube/tubular bottom seal open-mouth bags are a general purpose bag for medium to heavy duty use. Made from tubular polyethylene film that is sealed at the bottom, flat tube bags have no side seams and are ideal for food, pharmaceuticals, mulch, and hazardous waste.
These high-end open-mouth bags have features at the side or bottom (gussets) that allow them to expand to hold additional volume. The bag’s gusset sides contour to a box shape, offering excellent stability and stackability.
Back Seam open-mouth bags offer consistent sizing for improved performance on automated packaging equipment.
Rollstock and FFS film bags streamline high-volume packaging with automated systems. The material, fed from a roll, is quickly shaped to fit the product inside it. These bags are widely used in construction, petrochemicals, and consumer goods.
Maximize your product protection with our high-quality polyethylene bags. With years of experience and a commitment to customer satisfaction, Southern Packaging LP is your trusted packaging partner.
A polyethylene bag is industrial packaging made from PE film or resin, valued for its moisture resistance and durability when packaging granular and fine powder products. Southern Packaging offers polyethylene packaging in several formats, including block-bottom valve bags, open-mouth bags in four construction types, and rollstock/FFS bags for automated packaging systems - serving industries from agriculture and food processing to chemicals and construction.
Polyethylene (PE) bags are typically used as film-based packaging - valve bags, open-mouth bags, and liners - and offer strong moisture resistance, making them well suited for granular and fine powder products. Polypropylene (PP) bags are generally woven for greater tensile strength and are commonly used for heavier or more abrasive bulk materials, such as woven polypropylene bags for grain, feed, and agricultural products. The right material depends on your product's weight, moisture sensitivity, and handling requirements - our team can help you choose between the two based on your specific application.
Southern Packaging provides a comprehensive selection of polyethylene packaging solutions including polyethylene valve bags (both standard block-bottom and batch-inclusion varieties), open-mouth bags in four construction types (sideweld/side-seal, flat tube/tubular bottom seal, gusseted, and back seam), and rollstock/FFS (Form, Fill & Seal) bags. These options cater to diverse industrial needs from food processing to chemical manufacturing.
Block-bottom valve bags are filled through a self-sealing valve, giving them a flat, stable bottom ideal for palletizing and high-speed automated filling. Open-mouth bags are open at the top for filling and are available in four construction types - sideweld/side-seal, flat tube/tubular bottom seal, gusseted, and back seam - each closed differently depending on the application. Valve bags are generally preferred for granular and fine powder products requiring a sift-resistant, self-sealing closure, while open-mouth bags offer more flexibility for products of varying size and shape across agriculture, food processing, chemical, and building materials applications.
Our premium polyethylene block bottom valve bags feature a flat stable bottom, self-sealing valve, and sift-resistant construction. They're manufactured from virgin PE resin with options for 4.0-7.0 mil film thickness, micro-perforated breathable fabric, sanded anti-skid embossing, and multiple closure types (sonic seal, tuck-in, or standard internal sleeve). These durable bags are fully recyclable and available with UN certification.
A batch-inclusion bag is a specialized polyethylene valve bag made from low-melt polyethylene resin, designed to be added directly into a mixture during manufacturing without opening or emptying the bag. The bag itself melts at a controlled melt point of 100C-108C, dispersing its contents uniformly into the mixture. This eliminates product loss and contamination while minimizing personnel exposure to hazardous materials - making batch-inclusion bags a common choice for chemicals like Carbon Black and Titanium Dioxide in the paint, rubber, and tire manufacturing industries.
Our polyethylene block bottom valve bags are available in 4.0 to 7.0 mil film thickness, and the right choice depends on your product's weight, abrasiveness, and the level of puncture or tear resistance your handling process requires. Heavier or coarser materials generally call for thicker film, while lighter, less abrasive products may perform well with a thinner gauge. Our team can help match the right mil thickness to your specific product and filling equipment.
Yes. UN Certification is available on our polyethylene block bottom valve bags, making them suitable for packaging hazardous materials that require UN-specification packaging.
We offer extensive customization including 1- to 8-color printing, labeling/lot number printing, custom film colors for product identification, metalized films, and high-gloss lacquer finishes. Our rollstock/FFS bags can feature up to 10-color printing with options for nano-perforation, anti-skid embossing, and custom coefficients of friction.
Our polyethylene packaging serves numerous industries including agriculture, food processing (using FDA/USDA approved materials), chemicals, pharmaceuticals, building materials, construction, petrochemicals, and consumer goods. The bags are particularly valued for packaging dry, flowable products requiring moisture resistance and durability.
